Many players sell old IMVU accounts on game marketplaces, but IMVU’s terms do not allow accounts to change hands, so both sides take a risk. If you still want to sell, here is what an account is worth and how to avoid the most common scams.
What makes an IMVU account valuable
- Join date. Accounts from 2004 to 2010 sell for the most.
- Access Pass. An age-verified AP account is worth more.
- VIP with time left on it.
- Rare items in the inventory, such as limited edition and retired products.
- A short or rare avatar name.
- Credits on the balance.

How sellers avoid scams
- Use a marketplace that holds the buyer’s money until the trade is done, never a direct payment to a stranger.
- Never hand over the login before the payment is secured.
- Hand over the original email together with the account, or the buyer cannot keep it.
- Keep screenshots of the account and the whole conversation.
The risk to know about
IMVU can disable an account that was sold, and it can put an account on hold after a login from a new place. To lift a hold, IMVU asks for card details used on the account, which the new owner does not have. Read IMVU account disabled or on hold before you decide.
