Heads up: IMVU Only does not run, link to or broker any black market. This section explains how the scene works and how to stay safe. The only official way to buy and resell rare items on IMVU is the Limited Edition (LE) shop.
IMVU black market Discord servers are unofficial groups where players trade rare items, credits and even whole accounts for real money. None of it is protected by IMVU, so if a trade goes wrong there is nobody to get your money back.
What gets traded there
- Rare and discontinued items that no longer appear in the catalog.
- Credits sold below the official price.
- Accounts with old join dates, short names, badges or big inventories.
Why it is risky
- No buyer protection. Payments go through PayPal Friends & Family, crypto or gift cards, which are hard or impossible to reverse.
- Account rules. IMVU’s terms say sharing accounts is a violation. A bought account can be recovered by the seller or closed by IMVU.
- Credit reversals. Cheap credits often come from stolen cards. When the card owner disputes the charge, IMVU can take the credits back and act against the receiving account.
- Phishing. “Middlemen” and “verification bots” in these servers often lead to fake login pages.
Safer alternatives
- Buy and resell rare items in IMVU’s official Limited Edition (LE) shop.
- Buy credits only from IMVU or with official IMVU gift cards.
- Want a short or rare-looking name? IMVU sells name change tokens and premium names. See our name change guide.
Check before you trust
Before you deal with anyone, look them up with our Avatar Card Viewer. A brand-new account selling “rare” items is a red flag.
