On IMVU your avatar poses by sitting or standing on a spot in a room’s furniture. Each spot plays its own pose, so pose rooms are simply rooms packed with posing spots. For pictures, the Photobooth on the website and in the app has preset poses as well.
How to use poses on IMVU
- Join or open a room that has furniture with posing spots.
- Click or tap a spot on the furniture. Your avatar moves there and takes the pose.
- Click another spot to switch poses.
On mobile, tap the spot in the room. Pinch and drag to find the spots on bigger furniture.
Pose rooms
Pose rooms are public rooms built for photos, with many posing spots in one place. Search the room list for “pose”, “photo” or “couple” to find them. You can also buy pose furniture in the catalog and place it in your own room.
Couple poses
Couple poses need furniture with two linked spots. Both avatars click their side, and the poses line up. Couple pose rooms collect these in one place.
Photobooth poses
The Photobooth lets you make pictures with your avatar in a set of preset poses, on any background, with scribbles and filters. On the website, click the camera icon on the homepage. It is also in the IMVU app.
Male, female and pose packs
Pose packs in the catalog bundle several poses for one avatar type, so check the product page to see if it is made for a male or female avatar. Some poses are rated Access Pass only and need AP.
IMVU poses not working?
- The furniture is not yours and the room owner limits who can use it.
- The pose is AP only and your account has no Access Pass.
- The pose was made for the other avatar type (male or female).
- Another avatar is already on that spot.
Black market poses
Black market Discord servers sell copied pose packs. Like other ripped products, they can disappear after a copyright claim. Buying from the creator in the catalog is the safe way. See our IMVU black market guide.
