The Create & Earn guide: from download to Catalog in 6 steps

  1. Pick a piece. Choose a sofa, chair, throne or full room set from the library below. Every zip has the mesh (.xmf), a skeleton with sit nodes (.xsf), an idle action (.xaf), materials (.xrf), textures and an upload guide.
  2. Choose your colour. Most pieces come with 6 to 8 colourways in the Colors/ folder. Pick one and use its texture for the colour material.
  3. Open Create Mode. In IMVU go to Create › Furniture and derive from the empty furniture base product 12908.
  4. Load the files. Skeleton: the _furniture_RIG.xsf file. Mesh 0: the .xmf file. Then one texture per material: the number at the start of each PNG is its material slot (00_…png goes to Material 00). Add the .xaf file as an action named stance.Idle.
  5. Sit test. Place the piece in a room and sit on every sit node. All our files are tested in IMVU before they go on sale.
  6. Price it and submit. Paste the credit line from the included guide into your product description, set your markup and submit. From then on every sale earns you credits.

What you need on the IMVU side

  • VIP: submitting products needs VIP Platinum, Diamond or Emerald. Earning real money needs Platinum or Diamond.
  • Submission fee: 500 credits at Creator Tier 0, 35 credits less for every tier you climb.
  • Size limit: furniture must stay under 3 MB. Our files are built to fit.
  • Credit line: our models are CC BY 4.0, so commercial use is allowed as long as the credit line stays in your description.

Questions

Do I need 3D skills?

No. Every file is already converted for IMVU with tested sit nodes. You only pick a colour, upload the files in Create Mode and submit.

What do I need on the IMVU side?

Submitting products needs VIP Platinum, Diamond or Emerald. To turn earnings into real money you need Platinum or Diamond VIP. The submission fee is 500 credits at Creator Tier 0 and gets cheaper as your tier goes up.

Can I sell what I make?

Yes. Each file is licensed to one IMVU shop: you can recolour it, edit it and sell your own products in the IMVU Catalog. You cannot resell or share the files themselves, and you keep the model credit line in your product description.

How do I pay?

In US dollars, by card or PayPal through a secure payment link. We do not accept IMVU credits for files.

What does All-Access include?

Every file in the library today, plus every new piece we add for the next 12 months. New files are emailed to you as they come out.
