The only safe ways to get IMVU credits are IMVU’s own credit store, official IMVU gift cards, a gift from a friend, or IMVU’s free offers. Credits sold cheap by strangers on Discord, Instagram or game marketplaces break IMVU’s rules and are often bought with stolen cards, which IMVU can reverse.
1. Buy in the IMVU credit store
- On IMVU Desktop or imvu.com, open Credits and Upgrades from the Home tab.
- Pick a credit package. Click “More Credit Options” to see bigger packs.
- Choose Checkout and your payment method. You can also pay with VCOIN.
On mobile, buy credits from the Credits & Upgrades screen in the app.
2. Use an IMVU gift card
Official IMVU gift cards are sold by retailers in amounts like $10, $25 and $50. Redeem the code on IMVU’s Gift Cards page and the credits land on your account. Gift cards are also the easiest way to buy credits without a credit card.
3. Get credits as a gift
IMVU lets friends send credits directly. The sender opens Send a Gift, picks Credits, chooses the recipient and the amount. The minimum is 100 credits, both accounts need a verified email, and there is a sending limit. Friends can also buy credits or VIP for you as a gift from IMVU’s Dollar Store using “Make it a gift”.
4. Earn free credits
- The Daily Spin, once a day on web and mobile
- Partner offers, surveys and video ads
- Quests and contests
- Peer Review (pays promo credits)
- Our own free daily 699 credits gift
Note: promo credits from offers cannot be transferred, gifted or used for outfits, music or shoutouts. Regular credits are always spent first.
5. VIP monthly credits
Every VIP tier adds credits each month, from 1,000 on mobile Gold up to 30,000 on Emerald. If you buy credits every month anyway, compare tiers in our VIP guide.
What about cheap credit sellers?
Sellers offering 100K credits for a few dollars usually buy them with stolen cards. When the card owner disputes the charge, IMVU reverses the credits and the receiving account can be penalized. A real seller never asks for your password and sends credits with IMVU’s own gift feature. See IMVU black market risks.
