Where you cancel IMVU VIP depends on how you paid. Card subscriptions are cancelled on IMVU’s Subscriptions page. PayPal, Apple and Google Play subscriptions are cancelled in PayPal, your iPhone settings or the Play Store. Deleting your IMVU account does not stop the payments.
Paid with a credit card (IMVU website)
- Go to your Subscriptions page on IMVU.
- Click More Info or the three dots next to your VIP membership.
- Choose Cancel VIP.
- Click “Yes, I am sure I want to cancel”. A popup confirms the cancellation.
Paid with PayPal
- Log in at paypal.com.
- Open “Pay & Get Paid” and choose Subscriptions.
- Find the IMVU subscription, click the three dots and choose Cancel Subscription.
Subscribed on iPhone or iPad (Apple ID)
- Open Settings and tap your Apple ID.
- Tap Subscriptions, then IMVU.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Subscribed on Android (Google Play)
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap IMVU, then Cancel, pick a reason and confirm.
What you lose when VIP ends
According to IMVU, when VIP ends you lose your monthly VIP credits and stacking loyalty credits (they restart from zero if you rejoin after the grace period), the VIP badge, the 5% catalog discount, Whisper, VIP-only rooms and groups, ad-free browsing, Live Chat support, Creator Program access and the Earn Money Program.
Long-time VIPs should also check these:
- If you became a Creator on or after May 10, 2012, your products are hidden from search when VIP ends.
- If you signed up on or after August 14, 2014, your free chat room slot goes away and your chat rooms close.
- If you bought VIP after May 1, 2011, “Guest_” may come back in front of your name unless you bought a Name Registration token separately.
